Profile: Hannah Sim

My name is Hannah Sim. I am a freshman in high school, and about to turn 14 soon. I used to live in Korea. I enjoy reading, watching movies, playing the piano, and playing golf, though I may not be a professional.

I am very concerned with the current environment and the climate crisis. The situation is deteriorating at a very fast pace now, and I have wanted to take action but didn't really know where to start. I want to be a part of the people who work to bring change and inform others of the seriousness of the subject.

I have always wanted to make change, but didn't know where to start. I wanted to apply it to my own life, doing little things like unplugging cords, using reusable water bottles, reducing water usage, and minimizing the use of plastic.

A few years ago, I came across a video that showed Greta Thunberg's speech at UN. I was really inspired by how passionate she was about the topic and it really motivated me to learning about the topics of the climate crisis.
