Profile: Abigail Williams

I’m Abigail Williams, but I go by Abby. I have four siblings: one older brother, an older sister, and a younger brother. I live in Madrid, Spain, but I moved from Tennessee. I love helping people and trying to save our corrupt society and continue to try to make a difference.

I have had the experience to travel around the globe in places like the Caribbean, North America, Central America, and multiple countries in Europe. I’ve seen the beauty of the world and the precious wildlife especially in areas around the Mediterranean and the Caribbean Sea. I’m currently entering the first year of the IB and am taking Environmental Social Sciences and have a huge interest in learning about the environment and the different influences that impact it. Nonetheless, as a sixteen-year-old, I believe that I can make an impact and effectively advocate for the Climate amongst my school and social media. As I am currently residing in Madrid, a city that produces a lot of carbon emissions and light pollution, I have become aware of the deadly impacts upon society but also on future generations that are to come. I hope to become an advocate to spread awareness and make a way towards change in our world today.

Christiana Figueres is someone who took on leadership of the UNFCCC, which is responsible for international climate change negotiations, and successfully steered world leaders to reach the Paris Agreement in 2015. She had also successfully shed important light on the gender dimension of climate change.
