Mercedes Asamani: Empowering Market Women to Significantly Contribute to Plastic Waste Management

Women make the majority of the informal workforce and a significant number of them are market women from where a lot of plastic waste is accrued. This project sought to educate them on the effects of plastic waste on the environment and the alternative packaging methods they can use. The project has already been completed. It was held on the 1st of May and the feedback has been positive so far. We hope to make it a regular project till we reach more and see greater results while advocating for policy reforms.
