Almokashfi Agiliy Omer Hamed
University of Khartoum, Sudan
My name is Almokashfi Algiliy, and I am from Sudan. I obtained a bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Khartoum graduated with a second-class first-division grade, and was one of the best-graduating students in my university. My home country, Sudan, faces numerous problems in various areas that impact daily life, including climate change. Good knowledge of the environment in respect of the study of atmospheric and climate science becomes indispensable to addressing these persisting phenomena, and this spurred my interest in applying for the fully-funded master's scholarship program of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) to study mathematical sciences. I was able to win the scholarship and I obtained a master's degree in mathematical science with a specialization in climate science at the Rwanda center. The program was concluded in June 2022.
I am currently an assistant teacher at the faculty of science - at the University of Khartoum. My long-term goal is to become a researcher and professional in environmental and climate sciences. I wish to create a formidable network that would collaborate toward the goal of promoting climate research and innovation in Africa.
